RBT Club Show 2024 Critiques

My thanks to the committee for a warm welcome and a very well run show.  It was a lovely turnout of quality dogs and the atmosphere was friendly, sporting and just what you would want a club show to be – competitive without going too far.

Well done to all the overall winners and all places, in fact to everyone who braved what turned out to be pretty dismal weather.  Thank you for your entry, I really enjoyed the day.

Baby Puppy
1.
Two litter mates who were both very nice, but just edging it today was Newton’s Lintweed Black Betty Boo. 5½ months bitch. Good head and eye, correct bite, sound moving for a baby and with lovely bone. Balanced.
2.
Newton’s Lintweed Black Lucian. Litter brother to winner and very similar in lots of ways.  Not unusual for a male to be that bit more rangy and less balanced at this stage.  Well handled and presented.  I am sure he will catch up with his sister.

Veteran
1.
Atkinson & Murphy’s Lintweed Black Star of India. 8 year old bitch who has maintained her balance and soundness as she has matured. Good head and eye, correct bite. Holds topline on the move.  Good bone and lots of coat.  BVIS
2.
Newton’s Lintweed Black Beryl. Not as balanced as the winner and without quite as much substance. But still moving and looking well.
3.
Norton & Thomas’ Aveyrew Hot Gossip at Carantana

Pet Trimmed (D)
1.
Newton’s Lintweed Black Brian. 19 months. Nice big dog. Well constructed and very sound.  Needs to let his coat come in and get him shown in my opinion

Pet Trimmed (B)
1.
Knight’s Dromnagus Bulgarian Jasmin Noir. 10 months and a lovely little bitch.  Growing a little bum high at the moment, but other than that really nicely constructed and a lovely sound mover.  Another one who needs to get her coat in and get shown

2.     Whitehouse’s Larkharbour Lambretta. Just 12 months old. Bigger than the winner and very exuberant. Needs a little time and more training. Not the easiest to assess but overall gives the impression of a good quality RBT.

Puppy (D)
1.
Perk’ Dromnagus Emporio Stronger With You. 10 months and a nice balanced puppy.  Good head and eye, good bite, good length of neck into a lovely topline which he retained well on the move.  Sound mover and presented in excellent condition
2.
Clarke’s Egon Z Galicy Jskiej Ziemi NAF TAF. 8 months old and a big, bouncy puppy. Again not the easiest to assess but I am sure he will come. Excellent coat and condition.

Junior (D)
1.
Perks’ Dromnagus Creed Aventus. Litter brother to the puppy winner and similar in lots of ways.  Fantastic scopey movement which was a pleasure to watch. RBD & BPIS

Limit (D)
1.
Clelford’s Kenig Foreign Blek Berkut (Imp Rus). Stood alone. 3yrs and a big, upstanding dog with a nice outline viewed from the side. Good head and eye, reach of neck, topline and bone.  Excellent coat. I was disappointed that he did not move to compliment his outline

Open (D)
1.
Perk’s Ir Ch Scott Black Legion (Imp Pol). My first thought when he entered the ring was wow!  What an impressive dog this is. He has a lovely head, correct skull and muzzle planes. Good bite and a lovely dark eye.  Adequate neck blending into a good, firm topline. Lovely bone. Good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Sound coming and going and a lovely expansive, ground covering gait from the side. Balanced, with excellent coat and presented in fabulous condition (despite the weather). Well deserved BD and BIS

Puppy (B)
1.
Perks’ Dromnagus We Live for Love.  Lovely bouncy pup who clearly loves life.  She was a bit difficult to assess due to her exuberance, but overall of good breed type, with good coat and pretty sound. BPB and RBPIS

Junior (B)
1.
Perks’ Dromnagus Emporio Black.  Sister to best puppy dog and similar comments apply.  Lovely movement.
2.
     Whitehouse’s Larkharbour Lambretta

Limit (B)
1.
Baldwin’s Lintweed Black Zamara.  20 months. Of the 3 entries, this was the bitch with the best balance overall and she had the best hind movement of the bitches presented
2.
Newton’s Lintweed Black Bertha. 8 years old and showing her age a bit today.  Not as balanced as the winner and moving close behind
3.
Norton & Thomas’ Kalaslane Judge Judy at Carantana

Open (B)
This was a tight class, my winner took it on elegance and a more expansive, ground covering gait.
1.      McCluney’s Medvezhya Staya Zoloto Partii of Maharli.  Lovely 2½ year old bitch with good head and eye, correct bite.  Lovely neck and topline.  Good bone, feet and coat.  Sound, sound, sound!  Lovely movement from any view point.  Very well presented and well handled.  BB & RBIS
2.
O’Donnell’s Kalaslane Revenge for Neukiebear.  6 years old and losing out to the younger generation today but what a lovely bitch this is. Good head and eye, good bite, good reach of neck, firm topline.  Good bone and feet.  Sound. Very well presented and well handled.  RBB
